I think it may be more of the excitement for our trip this Wednesday. (But when I get excited, then I think about how much I have to do before we leave and get overwhelmed...) But, it also might be that I'm ready for daylight savings time. Anyone know when that happens this year? In the last few years, my body clock has started getting me up earlier near the time of the change. Weird, I know.
This past Sunday afternoon, I decided to paint the laundry room. Husband and I had already bought the paint for that, the half bath downstairs and Eli's bathroom upstairs. However, I got busy and never got to it. Plus, we know that Husband won't be allowed to paint anymore. That is just a train wreck.
Anyway, I painted for a couple of hours on Sunday night and have spent less time than that in the laundry room each night. Now, we have some laundry to do and I'm not done. I should've known better than to start a new project on a busy week - and on a Sunday night besides. So, my goal for tonight is that I finish the entire room (it's small) and we get the washer/dryer installed so I can be 'back in business' after our busy weekend.
Good news: my Gram has agreed to moving into an assisted living place. She refused to move into Mom and Dad's house. (yeah!) She'll move into her own private room this weekend. This place is in a regular neighborhood - it's a special house that was built to serve older folks and their special needs. It's not as close to us as we would have liked but at least she's here in Texas - for awhile - and we can see her more often than if she were at home in Missouri.
Husband is back to catching mice. Yesterday, he caught two. These mice aren't the little field mice variety - these are huge...not quite rat sized but close and still grey. Gross. Give me a snake any day, well, not any day but rather than creepy mice, for sure!
Thanks, too, for your emails about the nightly rituals at your house. We've been having discussions about those at our house. I'll save that discussion for another day.
Which brings me to another point - even if you don't have a google account, you can click on the comment section and then comment as an 'anonymous' person. (You can do this on Jen's blog, too.) Just so you know.

I will always remember "snake training" at camp and learning how to properly kill a poisionous snake. I'd rather take on the mouse... I echo Indiana Jones on this one ("Why does it have to be snakes?!?")
I think I would rather have mice than snakes. Just not bats or raccoons, since I have endures these! I fear the day when I have to do that on my own. Maybe it won't happen until Davey is old enough to take care of it. Actually, Max is the more likely one to be willing to de-critter the house!!
Hey!!
Glad to see you are still blogging, even if you've deserted xanga for blogspot.
I commented on a couple others as well, so you'll have to hunt down the page.
I saw your post about having Grans ordering books - If you are ordering Avon, get me some of that black Halloween nail polish again, and one of those pen shaped nail polish removers. (the first for me, the second for the girls!! :))

I think the Daylight Savings switch-over is November 1. I could be wrong, but that's the weekend it was last year.
Hey Girl,
I didn't even know you had a blog. I'm shocked at how big and totally adorable Eli is.
I have been horrible about staying in touch, but ask Jodi, I have become a flake every since the arrival of children.
We should definitely do lunch when we can all manage the time.
Love Valerie
