The day after daylight savings time found us headed to Grapevine, Texas, to ride Thomas the Tank Engine. Eli was very excited and wore Thomas undies, a train shirt and his conductor hat/bandana set. On the way over, we read Thomas books and played with the little metal Thomas train.
Once there, we picked up our tickets and headed to the Thomas bouncehouse.
We then played with some trains and watched a Thomas movie before Thomas rolled into the station. As he returned, he tooted his horn and everyone came running to see.
We waited in line for our turn to ride. When we were settled and beginning to move, Eli said, “Need to go potty!” So, off we went to find the smaller-than-an-airplane-bathroom! Who knew? But, we were able to do our business and get back to our seats in dry pants! Yeah!
The ride was short but fun. The train played music and information about Thomas and his movies/shows. I learned more about Thomas and his friends than I care to admit!
After a snack and drink break while listening to a bubble blowing band, we looked in the windows at the glass blowing place, played in a BIG sandbox and collected stamps for a special prize.
All-in-all, it was a good time. Eli loved the train ride and sandbox best. But, he also liked his train whistle, hat and metal Thomas train. He didn’t want to leave, so Daddy had to carry him to the truck. Sad. Bye, Bye, Thomas!
