I've had early meetings and late trainings for the last two days. (boohoo!) That's really cut down on my time with both of my boys. I've missed some of the funny stuff that happens with having a two year old around - and also getting to listen to some of the conversations the boys have together when Daddy thinks nobody is listening.
Here's the conversation I got when I came in the door tonight:
Eli: Mommy!
me: Hi! Did you have a good day?
Eli: Didn't go to park.
me: Why? (Thinking all the time - why didn't Daddy take you to the park? What did you do instead?)
Eli: Dangerous.
me: The park is dangerous?
Eli: Lightning. Dangerous.
me: Ohhh! (Suddenly dawning on me that the rainstorm had brought lightening/thunder so Daddy was keeping him safe! duh!)
Eli: Maybe tomorrow go park?
me: Absolutely!
What a smart boy! Who knew he really listened to us and would remember some of these big words a few hours later?
Also, one thing I did miss today was Eli playing the air guitar while singing the ABC's at dinner. I'm thinking that will be something we need to get on video before too long...
